From time to time we use the PredictWind Tracker App whilst on board so you can see where Karisma is (or, at least, where the Skipper’s iPhone is).

Bear in mind that the boat only appears on the tracker:
a) When the phone is powered up and is receiving a GPS signal;
b) When we’ve chosen to turn the app on, and;
c) when she’s in mobile phone range and connected to Vodafone by at least 3G, which doesn’t happen in all that much of the Bristol Channel or adjacent coasts. You can get an indication of Vodafone’s 3G coverage here.
